They?ve done it again! Shrek 2 is an outstanding and funny movie that surpasses it?s predecessor in enjoyable entertainment. Mike Myers, Cameron Diaz and Eddie Murphy are back and accompanied by John Cleese and Antonio Bandaras in this fantastic sequel to Shrek.
The plot is much more complex in this one as Shrek now seeks acceptance from Fiona?s critical father who has struck a secret deal with an evil stepmother to have his daughter marry her son... Prince Charming. All the parts are well played and the computer animation is superb.
As if all this weren?t enough, there are also several reference to other blockbuster movies (such as Lord of the Rings, The Matrix and Flashdance just to name a few) that make this film that much more entertaining.
My biggest regret is that I saw this one as a rental and not on the big screen. This movie is worth full admission including the popcorn and soda. Don?t miss this family film weather you have a family or not. It is truly worthy of the distinction - the Best Animated Film of All Time - grossing $436M in the US alone and over $900M worldwide.
