Revenge of the Sith Review Is it the best movie of the Year? Will it be the best movie come year end? Will it be the biggest of the year? Does it get the job done and done well and better than Episodes I and II. No matter what your opinion on the first 3 questions Epidoe III is a success.

The movie gets the job done, done well and is 2 hours of enjoyment. Still it is 2 hours and 26 minutes long so there is definitely room for improvement come 3D re-release/special edition time.

Revenge of the Sith typlifies what Lucas means by talking about his Star Wars opus as "titanic in space".

In Revenge of the sith, you know exactly what is going to happen, exactly why it is going to happen, and nearly exactly when it is going to happen. Include lightsaber duels, gruesome deaths, talk about good vs bad vs embracing both and you have a simplified version of the movie. However, people didnt go to Titanic for an unpredictible ending/movie, but rather an experience. Cameron and Titanic delivered and Revenge of the Sith is the same way.

Every scene is eye candy and 2 hours is an immense improvement over Episode I and II. Loose ends are tied up, Jar Jar Binks has even less screen time than Episode 2 (but he is still there if you like him), Wookies return (and even the Christmas Holiday special seems to get a slight nod of reference), and there are hundreds of blink and you will miss it items [Han Solo's future ship/Milennium Falcon can be seen docking in 1 scene].

The movie however, starts innanely. It has got to have the smallest beginning scrool of any of the 6 films and by far the least helpful. This is not improved upon much with silted dialoge between Anakin and Obi-Wan nor Anakin and Padame. These exchanges bring new meaning to the word stilted. Still the piece de-resistance = the huge battle of ships that is the movies beginning is a little to much Paul Veerhoven's Starship Troopers esque and a little too little Star Wars 4/5/6. Additionally, I know the Senator is bad and evil and a politician, but weird actions/cheers in a light sabre duel make him seem like a cheering/crazed baseball fan rather than a skilled and scheming manipulator of Anakin which is what the whole battle is in the first place [a manipulation].

Still after those first 26minutes or so the movie is all out. Darth Vader rises, pieces fall into place, Episode I's virgin birth is explained thankfully [Remember the Darth Plagueis "the wise" story at the Opera?], and if you believe Love turned Anakin or he was manipulated or that it was pre-ordained mediclorian manipulation from the Dark Lord all is set right in line for episode 4-6 to ultimately bring the force back into balance or at least return the Jedi.

Then Lucas drops a bomb shell about Qui-Gon returning and we must wait until the special special edition re-releases or restudy the manual for something we missed.
