Final Predictions

Falling from its $24.4 million take last Friday, Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones landed Friday with a gross of $12.8 million in ticket sales, averaging $4,044 per-screen in 3,161 theaters. The George Lucas saga looks to complete the 3-day frame with $37 - 50 million and a 4-day haul of $47 - 60 million at the box office.

Spider-Man held second place with $7.3 million, averaging $1,879 per-theater in its gigantic 3,876 locations, which currently holds as the largest theater count release ever (despite the fact that it did not debut in that). Spider-Man has grossed $305.1 million to date, and should see about $26 - 28 million for Friday - Sunday and a 4-day figure of $31 - 34 million in ticket sales.

Christopher Nolan's Insomnia debuted in third place with a strong $6.0 million tally on Friday, averaging a sturdy $2,312 per-site. The thriller earned an encouraging B average from CinemaScore polled audiences on opening night and should complete the weekend with a 3-day and 4-day gross of about $19 and 23 million.

DreamWorks' new family adventure, Spirit, took fourth place with $4.5 million, averaging a decent $1,365 per-venue in 3,317 theaters. The film will likely see a big Saturday boost with matinee sales and may earn roughly $17.5 million and $21.5 million for the 3-day and 4-day period.

Jennifer Lopez' Enough managed to bring in a solid crowd on opening night despite less-than-sparkling reviews, as the thriller raked in $4.5 million as well in 2,623 theaters, averaging a good $1,720 per-site. Enough should bring in $14.0 and 17.5 million for the 3-day and 4-day frame.
