    Every film on this disc is highly visible with great detail especially considering the vintage of these films owing to the amazing restoration from the original negatives. I simultaneously bought the "Vintage Erotica anno 1920,'30, '40, and '50 series. There is no comparison in terms of clarilty and detail. The Good Old Naughty contains no incomplete clips, no overly contrasty scenes with legs, arms or something moving indistinguishably as "anno" has. Years ago, I found a VHS collection that was entirely black and white... no grays or other tones... because they were copies of copies of copies. Nothinig like that will be found on The Good Old Naughty Days. If this is what you're into, I can't reccommend this disc more!

    Whenever we think about our grand parents, or great grand parents times, or even before, we tend to imagine those times as very prude and innocent, with a very Victorian set of mind. But, for the most part, I think that once we dish the formal gatherings, we are pretty much mistaken, and this is a great example of such fact. Do you think the fantasy of a menage a trois is an invention of our generation? Think again.

    Now, if I found this collection so interesting, why did I gave it four stars instead of five? Well, probably because of modern sensibility. I was unable to watch the whole thing at once. As porn in our day and age has gone main stream, we are used to audio on it, and other unspoken elements that allow you to watch the "action" and have a time to relax before the next steamy scene. I, for one, was unable to watch more than 30 minutes of this collection at a time. It gets old after a while, and you have to let it rest for a couple of days before going back to it.

    But all and all, if you like the idea of having this collection, more from the collectors point of view, it is a good item to acquire.

    Maybe I'm more of a prude than I thought, but this is far more graphic than I expected it to be. I thought it would just be some titillating, nudge-nudge-wink-wink glimpses of thigh and breast here and there, but no-- it's the whole enchilada, complete with money shots. As one who is interested in 1920s films, it at least makes a good curio item and provides a little time capsule of the underbelly of French "Jazz Age" culture. There is one sequence with a dog, however, that I thought went way over the top. Wouldn't that be considered animal abuse in today's society?

    2014 was a year in my life when I looked to the past for those perfect persons that most singles imagine are out there somewhere. The period of 2007 to the present has largely been one frustration after another in achieving any friends that weren't annoyingly coy or outright users or abusers. I realized from watching the movies of the 1930s, that those really were the good old days when people were free and not micromanaged or subject to political correctness run amuck. it seems that men can't do anything right anymore and that everything that we do gets us in trouble, so I rarely initiate flirtation.
    My immediate attraction to Marian Marsh, starting with Svengali (1931), caused me to utterly sympathize with the character of Little Billee, who like me was robbed of his soulmate by a witch. As I continued my search for all things Marian, her other uplifting coming of age films allowed me to escape to a more civilized time, and soon I found myself arranging art around Marian and her lookalikes, which then led to looking into stag films of the era.
    The Good Old Naughty Days DVD looked like the sexy but innocent art that interested me, and the film that was featured on the cover was the type of art that I expected the whole DVD to be about. I have never desired pornography, which is any sexual relations on film as most of the rest of this DVD is, but rather I was interested in sexy even nude women without any portrayed sex, as Trilby says, "for the interests of art".
    If you are like minded about what type of "good old days" sexiness that you would like to see, then I recommend to you the circa 60 minute long Forbidden Cinema DVDs that are currently $5.98 each for Prime members. If memory serves, Forbidden Cinema is longer than Good Old Naughty Days and cheaper than Naughty's $24.99 with Prime. After enjoying my Marian escapist period to the fullest, I have continued to look for similarly beautiful stars right up to the present, enjoying each of them to the fullest, while continuing to do all that I can to honor God and help my fellow man! I continue to dream of achieving young single female friends that are A.I.M.S. (attractive, intelligent, mates: that are shipmate friends or my precious long awaited soulmate, that are all successful)!

    Bear in mind, this is from an age when Lillian Gish showing her ankle on screen was deemed almost scandalously provocative. You should view it as an historical look at a less jaded time rather than as heavy breathing porn. The reason I gave it only two stars is because it is pricey and the disk arrived in a shattered case. The disk was only lightly scratched, but still, over $20 and it arrived with the case in several pieces.

    This collection is not great but in Historical terms is priceless. It does open the questions of Women's exploitation however. It was a different age with different values and whilst we should not condone male dominance when there was much hardship, it will give a glimpse behind a curtain that many would not want to see. It is, in the end, refreshing to know what existed over 100 years ago. For those then who may have regarded the great and good as above this there were some prominent dignitaries like Sir Arthur Sullivan and Frederic Delius who would visit brothels in Paris and pay for it this erotica and the reality. It has always existed and was the modern equivalent to the Japanese pillow books. The working man and woman on the other hand might have been complicit by knowing and thinking this was what life was like for the rich. Not a set of movies for the aged Aunt or the squeamish or if you are likely to be outraged. For those interested in cinema it is a surprise that these exist and so much trouble was taken in the making of these films. It was one of the official selections for the Cannes Film Festival in 2002 but I doubt if it won any awards.

    The disc is a variety of short films mostly French going back to 1920's. The underwear in these short films were so big that one pair of bloomers would be a full load in today's washing machines. I suppose the films could have a serious side and serve as a warning to people today, beware what you post online people could still be viewing them in 2120 and beyond.

This collection of short, silent films is a nod and a wink at earlier cinematic attempts at titillation, historical and very amateur it is a very interesting look at the early days of pornography. If you are not easily offended, then enjoy it for what it is. The short and funny animation included is a highlight.

    Make no mistake about it, this is certainly pornographic, picturing a variety of attractive ladies, including some nuns, removing all their clothes and indulging in all kinds of 'naughty' encounters. However, considering these escapades were all filmed during the nineteen twenties, when women were much less equal with their male counterparts than they now are, it's quite remarkable how the 'girls' are pictured here as always coming out on top, so to speak, with all the men depicted as a bunch of incompetent fools who have to be taught how to do it. It seems also that the nuns main function was to school the priests concerning how to perform properly.

    Considering the age of this black and white production from the time of silent films, it's in remarkably good shape and readily watchable. Whereas, like everything else, pornography can degenerate into the realm of abuse, there's no hint of that here. The message seems to be: what we are doing is all very natural, decent and enjoyable; so please come along and enjoy yourselves with us without fear or favour and how silly it is to try and cut oneself off from the natural things in life.
