Zoinks! Concerned that his frightfully popular resort might truly be haunted, Spooky Island owner Emile Mondavarious (ROWAN ATKINSON) tries to reunite those notoriously meddling detectives to solve the mystery before his supernatural secret scares away the college crowds. "I would've gotten away with it if weren't for you meddling kids!" Equal parts remake and spoof, this tongue-in-cheek live-action resurrection finds the old Saturday-morning-cartoon gang reunited to investigate the zombie teens of a haunted amusement park. Frantic action and big-screen special effects stand in for logic, but for a while it makes for a spirited send-up. Freddie Prinze Jr., under a blond hairdo and an ascot, turns Fred into a preening pretty boy, and Sarah Michelle Gellar plays with her own Buffy image as eternal damsel-in-distress Daphne (in magenta mini-dress and maxi-boots, no less), but this show belongs to gangly Matthew Lillard, who is the adenoidal beatnik Shaggy. His loyal-to-the-end friendship with the computer-animated Scooby-Doo is the most convincing relationship in the whole two-dimensional goof. Some of the supernatural nasties may be scary for young kids and the humor careens from winking self-awareness to Scooby doo-doo gags, but otherwise this is as harmless as a Saturday-morning chapter and as substantial as a Scooby snack. --Sean Axmaker

Good quality, packaging was nice and secure, and when I popped it in my xbox it worked wonderfully. Get it while you can. This is still one of the greatest scooby doo movie's, when I was a kid I use to watch it all the time and to this day it still gives me nostalgia. Matthew Lilard is such an amazing actor and his role as shaggy us like no other. The whole cast played their roles just like the cartoons, People may complain about the CGI but it's an old movie from the 2000's so ofc it's not gonna be top tier quality but as a 2006 kid I personally admired it. I'd rate it a 9.8/10.

    I grew up with this movie so I already love it but I should my 4 and 5 year old nieces since they started to like Scooby Doo. My oldest loved it would constantly watch it unfortunately it did scare my younger niece so keep in mind age might play a factor or just preference for spooky on non spooky.

    I bought the Blu-Ray version because it was a reasonable price and I already had a full-screen copy of the DVD that drove me nuts to watch on a widescreen TV. This pretty much says I already enjoyed the flick. It's mindless and fun, and that's what makes it entertaining.

    There is definitely better picture quality with the Blu-Ray version when compared to the standard DVD. There is far more pixelating in the standard DVD that is non-existent in the Blu-Ray version. But, the Blu-Ray version is not as flawless as it should be. Any flaws existing in the original film at the time of transfer (or flaws created during the transfer itself) will make their way to the high-def disc.

    I noticed a lot of very "active" backgrounds in many of the early scenes. So much so, it's almost distracting. At one point, Shaggy's green shirt even seems to be "moving". But, later in the movie, everything looks stable and sharp as Blu-Ray should be. This suggests to me that either the original movie has some flaws, or the there was some kind of issue with the transfer process itself. Maybe there's some kind of compression going on???

    All in all though, for $14 from Amazon, I would still recommend the Blu-Ray version. Just go into it without an image of perfection. Sit back, don't be critical and enjoy the flick.
