Instrumental version of 'You Don't Know Me' is a pleasant bonus, but then as a negative the vocal version is not on the CD. Piano version of 'Somewhere in Time' theme is well done and a contrast to the jazzy version in the movie (also included on cd).

    映画のストーリーのほぼ展開順に曲が収録されています（ご存知のように話が所どころ前後するので）。初めて映画館で鑑賞して以来好きな映画ですが、IMDbを見ても長年あまり評価が高くなかったのがじわじわと高評価になったのが嬉しいです。時期は違うけれども欧米人が好きなクリスマスキャロルで奇跡が起こる話の変形ですね。
    こういう映画では挿入歌の歌詞にストーリーにつながる寓意が込められていることが多いので、目覚ましから聞こえる「Weatherman」を始め歌詞を聴き取るのが楽しいです（最近はインターネットで原詩が調べられることが多い）。
    フィルが積もった雪からリタの顔を彫刻する「The Ice Sculpture」が私の一番好きな曲です。映画ではテーマだけですが、CDではサックスのイントロからフルに一曲になっています。私が好きな理由をじっくりと考えてみると、この曲の最初の部分は和声がパガニーニの第18変奏と同じなのですね。
    この映画がお好きならこれを聴きながら映画の場面を思い浮かべるのが楽しいですよ。人生如何に生くべきか、幸せとは、色々と考えさせてくれる映画を音で表現した曲目を収めたCDです。
    ジョージフェントンは良い映画音楽を書く作曲家です。

    Zur Handlung:

    Nur mit Widerwillen macht sich TV-Wetterfrosch Phil (Bill Murray) zum wiederholten Mal mit seinem Kamerateam auf den Weg ins Provinznest Punxsutawney, um dort über den alljährlich abgehaltenen Murmeltier-Tag zu berichten.

    (Der ŽGroundhog DayŽ ist ein, in weiten Teilen der USA vor -zig Jahren eingebürgertes Festival gegen Ende des Winters. Das älteste und bekannteste Murmeltier-Festival findet tatsächlich in Punxsutawney statt und dies schon seit 1886. Infos auf der Seite [...] ).

    Als menschenverachtender Zyniker lässt es sich Phil nicht nehmen, seine Launen an jedem auszulassen, der ihm über den Weg läuft. Das bekommen nicht nur seine Kollegen, sondern auch die Bürger von Punxsutawney zu spüren. So fällt es ihm auch schwer, seine aufkommenden Gefühle für die reizende Produzentin Rita (Andie MacDowell) richtig verpackt Žan die FrauŽ zu bringen. PhilŽs einziger Wunsch ist es, den Bericht schnell in den Kasten zu bekommen und dann wieder ins heimische Pittsburgh abzureisen, doch ein einsetzender Schneesturm macht eine weitere Übernachtung nötig. Phil ahnt nicht, dass das Schicksal nicht vor hat, ihn so schnell aus Punxsutawney zu entlassen. Am Morgen stellt Phil beim Blick aus dem Fenster fest, dass der Schnee, welcher aufgrund des Blizzards auf den Straßen liegen sollte, verschwunden ist. Im Radio läuft scheinbar das selbe Band wie am Vortag und überhaupt kommt ihm alles sehr merkwürdig und bekannt vor! Was Phil nicht weiß: Der Murmeltiertag wird sich für ihn so lange wiederholen, bis aus ihm ein anderer Mensch geworden ist.

    Dreharbeiten und Hintergrundwissen:

    Nur ein Teil der Dreharbeiten wurde in Punxsutawney durchgeführt! Aus technischen und organisatorischen Gründen erfolgten die hauptsächlichen Dreharbeiten im nahe gelegenen Woodstock. Der im Film zitierte Festplatz ŽGobblerŽs KnobŽ ist ein Hügel am Stadtrand von Punxsutawney, auf welchem jährlich am 2. Februar das Murmeltier-Festival abgehalten wird. Im Film wirkten u. a. einige Mitglieder des Punxsutawney Groundhog Club mit. Während der Dreharbeiten kam keines der Murmeltiere zu Schaden.

    Persönliche Anmerkung:

    Dieser Movie ist einer der schönsten und lustigsten, die ich jemals gesehen habe. Bill Murray läuft zur Höchstform auf, während Andie MacDowell den ruhigeren Gegenpart spielt. Schön ist auch, dass die Handlung nicht im Getümmel einer amerikanischen Großstadt untergeht, denn gerade die stille, ländliche und winterliche Atmosphäre Punxsutawneys gibt dem Film und seiner Handlung die nötige Tiefe.

    Fazit:

    ABSOLUT SEHENSWERT!!!
