Is it forgivable that the second volume of songs from Adam Sandler's mid-'80s-revival comedy begins with Kajagoogoo's famously limp "Too Shy"? Not really, but the rest of the disc does a good job of recapitulating worthy memories from the era of torn-sweatshirt necks and mulletheads--not just with new-wave novelties but with Madonna and Hall & Oates staples ("Holiday" and "You Make My Dreams," respectively) as bouncy and glossy as anything the also-present Depeche Mode ("Just Can't Get Enough") and Dead or Alive ("You Spin Me Round [Like a Record]") ever put on the radio or MTV. The Cars' "It's All I Can Do" and the J. Geils Band's "Love Stinks" encapsulate the Sandler character's romantic frustrations, while the star's own "Grow Old with Me" actually points toward a serious career as a singer/songwriter for our boy. - Reviewed in the United States on June 11, 2025Not teal like it says in the description and on the box, found on line at a different website the color is called coral. Very happy with this color because I have nothing else like it and plenty of blue/green vinyl. Sound quality is amazing.

- Reviewed in the United States on June 7, 2019Another excellent compilation CDs of some great music from the 1980s! Also includes Billy Idol’s on board aircraft PA “announcement” from the final scenes of the movie and Adam Sandler’s “I wanna grow old with you”, ballad to Drew Barrymore.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 15, 2007This movie was a favorite in our household and my daughters always enjoyed the karaoke a the end of the DVD, so we searched for the soundtrack. I actually chose this volume over volume 1 for two reasons...it contains the favorite from the movie, "I want to grow old with you" actually sung by Adam Sandler and secondly, because Volume 1 contains the song that Adam Sandler sings about his ex-girlfriend, which contains quite a bit of profanity, so I didn't want to get it for my kids. I would have given it five stars, but we find the introduction by Billy Idol at the start of the last track, "I want to grow old with you," which is dialog from the movie, to be distracting and it gets tiring to have to listen to over and over when you just want to hear the song, which I mentioned was the absolute favorite.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 29, 2021My daughter is amazed that I know every word of every song on the cd...
- Reviewed in the United States on October 25, 2019I ordered Volume 1 and Volume 2.
Volume 1 arrived fine and was sealed.
Volume 2 was shrink wrapped but the tape seal on the side was already broken. The CD is not recognizable by my CD Player or my computer. I tried using "Extract Audio Copy" to pull the audio data off the CD and it complained of timing errors. The resulting audio data was bad. You could make out the song but it was very distorted. It may have just been a bad copy -- that's fine -- it happens.
EDIT: I ordered another on my own. Yes I'm now $14 invested in this CD. I now have two useless pieces of plastic. That's right, Volume 1 worked, but now Volume 2 has not worked twice. What's interesting is the second Volume 2 disc was also missing the tape-seal. Strange -- maybe Volume 2 is manufactured at a different facility and does not use the tape-seal? Maybe they've also had a bad batch? Sucks for me.
What I'm irritated with is this was not new as advertised and at $7 it's not worth returning, so someone got a free $7 as I'm about to buy another one... Shame on me?

1.0 out of 5 stars The vinyl version is terrible
Terrible-sounding record. Sounds like they used mp3 or compression files for the source material, so the end product is a muffled, dull mess. Unlistenable. Stick to the cd for this one.

5.0 out of 5 stars
