Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.
Viva La Tristeza! ¿porque no? For Shirley Horn nuts (who isn't?), contrary to Amazon's title/artist listing, it's the first song only — Jobim & Vinicius's stupendous "Once I Loved," from her 1989 Verve album Close Enough for Love — that's Shirley Horn. What follows should be indicated as: Jimmy Scott (Prince's "Nothing Compares 2U"), then songs by Goldfrapp, Michael Brook & Djivan Gasparyan, Albert Piá, Ana D, incroyable Chavela Vargas (her champion rendition of "La Llorona"), Kepa Junquera, Caetano Veloso ("Cucurrucucú Paloma"), Chet Baker (early "My Funny Valentine"), Nina Simone ("My Way" — imo, the *lone* version anywhere worth anybody's time), Gregory Isaacs ("House of the Rising Sun," that chestnut a peculiarity for him), and Nicolette. As someone no doubt says elsewhere in these reviews, these are all songs from Pedro Almodóvar's playlist while he was making Habla Con Ella (Talk to Her) — hence the image on the cover — and *not* the soundtrack to a mysterious missing Almodóvar film. More the soundtrack to a hypothetical Almodóvar film in his head that he ought to make.
Nobody else could put together in a compilation to Nina Simone, Goldfrapp, Chavela Vargas and Jimmy Scott, like Almodovar did. Everytime you watch one of his movies you perceive that sensibility that involves each one of his projects. This is not the exception...properly called VIVA LA TRISTEZA, it makes you feel sad...but pleasantly sad! Listening to Jimmy Scott singing that wonderful version of Nothing Compares 2 U is a feast! He chose the best of the best for those reflexive moments each human being needs (sitting on your favourite couch, drinking a hot tea or a glass of wine, putting ideas in order, getting strength from somewhere...) I really loved this compilation, and hope each one of you have this album. Is a great gift for your soul

What more can I add to what people have already said about this album?
NOTHING really.
Overall an excellent selection of music. Likely a must for any audio collection ... and perhaps a source of inspiration for those who can trully sink into this compilation.
I'm very glad to have gotten it, despite hoping to get the actual soundtrack instead. No regrets whatsoever!
I will eventually also get the soundtrack also; too much beautiful music there too.
