I have never owned a soundtrack in my life that is this infectious since most of the soundtracks I ever bought we're purchased when I was in elementary school. Thirteen features a great diverse collection of California beat driven anthems. You know right away that each song fits perfectly for the mood of the movie (which was EXCELLENT). "Mas" is the best example of a party song on the album, thought don't expect to understand unless you speak spanish; still, it is the most infectious song on the album. "The equaliser" is a very unique electic song that fits perfectly with the movie. The two main theme songs (last 2 songs on the album) are perfectly arranged guitar riffs that make you think of a heavy and fast paced movie, which is what Thirteen is. The best song on this album is Liz Phair "Explain it to Me"...played during the end credits of the movie...the lyrcis and the substance of the song stand out through the rest of them and it fits perfectly with the film's message.
Overall this soundtrack is an infectious collection of music which will make you think about the film and all its wonders.
hey everyone, first of all wanna say that i loved the movie and loved all the music on it BUT i reallllly need to find out wat that music is that's playing when tracey says "i can't even remember how to spell photographer" and it also plays towards the end when tracey and mel are sleeping in her bed after the huge scene between them and evie and brooke. PLEASE someone help me im desperate to get this music on my ipod...THANKS!! im so annoyed that this isnt on the soundtrack as i feel, and im sure many others feel aswell, that it is the most important score in the movie, playing in the serious scenes that eveyone remembers and thinks "hey wasnt that music in that scene GREAT?" its really bugging me i can't find it ANYWHERE thanks
This is the first soundtrack I have ever bought. I don't buy them because most of them suck and never do well anyway. I was surprised to see this in FYE, but it was there and I had to have it. This is a very good cd. It's great to party to. There is so much musical diversity an this disc. There is latin, rock, pop, dance, rap, and more. The music screams California. I love it. I wish Evan Rachel Wood was on the cd. She is the main charecter in the movie. There is a girl w/ a singing voice similat to hers. Maybe she uses a stage name...??? Who knows There is a surprising track on the cd as well. Orlando Brown from Disney's "That's So Raven" has an ...interesting track. It's okay. His voice is easily recognizable and kinda annoying. You can hear a lot of these songs on the trailer of the movie. And I have the say the "Scores" are actually good. They should just be called intrumentals. Scores make the songs sound like something for old people. Anyway, buy this cd. If you are lucky enough to see the movie, do that as well!
KAUFEN! KAUFEN!
