i watch the video, and there are 2 songs on this cd that i like. i had to track this cd to get the songs that i really enjoy listening to fergie on it.
This soundtrack to the new remake of the Adventure film, Poseidon features songs from pop artist Fergie and suspensful as well as, breathtaking orchestra themes from composer Klaus Badelt. After seeing the film for the first time, the action sequences not only got my heart racing but the score to the film was very good and after hearing the songs in the movie I just had to get the soundrack. For me listening to the soundtrack was a whole new experience. Especially, when you combine the talents of a beautiful singer from the film and the orchestra score of Klaus Badelt it makes for a very engaging soundrack. I became intrigued by Badelt's work after listening to his score from the thriller spy film, "The Recruit" where there's a lot of techno spy music that runs through the core of the film. Here in Poseidon it's a mix of the music from films like the "Titanic" and "The Perfect Storm" where he incorperates a mix of beautiful melodies and haunting pulse pounding rhythms where you are thrown into the very frightening and intense life and death scenerios that the actors experienced while making the film. Interestingly enough, it was Wolfgang Petersen who directed Poseidon and you might recall that he also directed "The Perfect Storm" in 2000. For me personally, it would have been nice if he could have shown an exciting rescue scene toward the end where you see the PJs pulling the survivors out of the water like he did in "The Perfect Storm" but that's another story. In all, this soundtrack is definitely worth a look if you're a fan of adventure films like "The Perfect Storm" or "the Poseidon Adventure".
I dont get it-whats with these negative reviews? This cd is great! I ordered it 2 months ago and have listened to it many times. Some songs are very exciting, and "Escape" is so beautiful, as is "wont let you fall" by Fergie. I highly recommend this cd.

This score is a complete massage for the ears. The sounds are straightforward, pure, and overall perfect for the genre. I would caution the classical listener that this score is very syncopated rythmically, and the straight orchestral cues are few and far between... however, to the score listener, I don't thinkg anyone will complain, as Badelt manages to merge classical music with thumping percussion and synths with relative ease.
