Editorial Reviews
This soundtrack follows the great pantheon of other John Williams scores such as Star Wars, Superman, E.T., Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Harry Potter, and of course the previous three Indiana Jones Films. This album features an epic orchestral score that evokes the timeless action of Indiana Jones and the iconic themes that have endeared the character to millions of fans over for generations.

- Reviewed in the United States on July 17, 2008John Williams rarely strikes out, and he has definitely not in this latest composition from Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.
The Indiana Jones theme is what everyone remembers. I would rank it as one of the best motion picture themes. The rest of the soundtrack is very good. There is nostalgia woven throughout this soundtrack. Marion's theme is back and is found in several of the tracks, whether it be a a few seconds or not. Some of the Last Crusade music makes a return as well, at very appropriate times in the movie. I think it's an indication of how well the composition is by how well you are moved by the music and this made me recall all of the fond memories of Indiana Jones moments. There are some rather different themes at play but very much in tune with the theme of the film.
Until the other 3 soundtracks get re-released, this is your best chance to have the Indy theme.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 8, 2019As a huge fan of John Williams I look forward more to the score than the actual movie and like with the recent STAR WARS episode releases the music is the highlight of the film for me. It's fun to hear the themes new and old and the mixtures of the two. John Williams never disappoints.
This soundtrack has notable tracks and some that are performed in concerts with JW at the podium himself or conductors of local symphonies. The "Raiders March" is classic although typically composed slightly different. I like this heavier bass strings in this version. "The Adventures of Mutt" is a track often performed in concerts. The "Journey to Akatar" is another great track. The Crystal Skull theme is interesting and or course the "Finale" encompassing all themes with a slightly different and favorite ending. John always comes up with a different composition for his classic themes that keep them fresh yet familiar. Like all John Williams tracks, this is another great addition in the collection.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 27, 2008I have been in love with movies and their scores and soundtracks since I was very small. I remember vividly sitting on my dads lap at the age of 5 watching this handsome man stand there with a staff and the music swelling in the background. I have been in love ever since with these movies. Can you imagine what the movie would have been like without the genious of John Williams? I have been an avid collector of soundtracks and scores my entire life. I am also a movie fanantic and it is because I was born into a wonderful time for STAR WARS and INDIANA JONES. Yes there are hints of music that have been intertwined in with this new and wonderful movie, I found them to be important and welcomed just as much as this new chapter in a wonderful adventure. I still get goosebumps when listening to all of John Williams work, and believe me, I have enjoyed them for many many years. I love everything about this.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 26, 2018For any Indiana Jones fans, the last made in the series, comes in with a bang thanks to John Williams creating his magic again. Highly recommend- the soundtrack to relive the great adventures with Indiana Jones, his son and Marion.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 27, 2008With arguably one of moviedoms finest anthems in "The Raiders March" to build off of, John Williams once again shows why he is probably the finest movie theme composers of all time.
For all time Indy fans, it is wonderful to hear little snippets of previous Indy films worked into this score, as well as new and exciting original pieces to further the legend of Indiana Jones.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 28, 2013This is a classic piece of music to enjoy for the WHOLE family! since the very first movie with Indiana Jones, John has blown the socks off of millions who enjoy the films that John creates the beautiful and breath taking music for! another "must have" for the collection!

5.0 out of 5 stars 19 Jahre Indy-Pause merkt man Williams hier nicht an
The Spell of the Skull".

5.0 out of 5 stars I liked this but I think John Williams is a genius
I liked this but I think John Williams is a genius. Probably very difficult going back over a medium done 3 times before and trying to make it fresh.
Not a bad effort.
