Dirt (Special)
by
Lee Tistaert
One of
my neighbors is distributing an art-house film that is to be
released in two of the top markets in April of this year.
Being as though this site gathers visitors from all across the
world, including a good bunch from Los Angeles and New York,
we thought it would be interesting to help promote it here and
see what happened. |
Part of our ambition is to retrieve some sort of reaction from
all of you. We are interested in seeing what you think of the
movie based on my review, the trailer, or even the official
web-site at:
http://www.dirtthemovie.com (where the trailer is located)
Doesn't have to be anything major, as even simple comments or
even questions would do. The movie's a small production and it
may need a little assistance in attracting a substantial
amount of public attention. It's a harder film to market, as
it as an unusual story and involves sort of offbeat and quirky
characters. It's not exactly something that can be effectively
sold in a minute and a half theatrical preview, and once you
see the film that point can become bit apparent.
I've seen the movie already and think it has the potential
for a solid opening in limited release, but it's getting
moviegoers to actually occupy seats that we're trying to
motivate. In my opinion, it's a very well made picture that I
believe deserves attention more than many of the films in the
every day movie marketplace. It does scream art-house, but
it's a very Coen brothers type flick. They didn't literally
construct the feature, but some of the filmmaking styles run
parallel to their flare and writing.
You can read my
review of Dirt to get a better feeling for it. By using
the text field below, we'd encourage any comments or opinions
that you may have for the film. If you have criticisms to how
it sounds, we'd like to hear that too. Basically just anything
that's on your mind surrounding Dirt, we'd like to hear it.
And I'll be voicing my own opinions or responses to posts if
answers are needed. |
