Due to the horrific events
in New York on Tuesday, there have been some changes in the
movie industry and Phil Fager (below) has gracefully written
up a brief report regarding certain changes/delays:
Touchstone's Big
Trouble has been pushed back till next year at the
earliest from it's initial release on the 21st of this
month. The film concerned a bomb on a plane. Also, Warner
Bros. Collateral Damage with Arnold Schwarzenegger is
planning a delay. The first act of the action release deals
with a bomb that goes off in a hotel. Reports are coming in
that DreamWorks might delay their Oct. 12 entry of Robert
Redford's The Last Castle as well. But as of right
now it's not official and just speculation.
Right now, all trailers and posters for both Collateral
Damage and Spider-Man are to be destroyed. In the
trailer for Spider-Man there is a scene in which he
traps bank robbers escaping via helicopter by a web spun
around the World Trade Center towers. The trailer has been
taken off the web-site as well.
In TV related news, there are whispers about what's going to
happen to 3 highly anticipated shows that deal with
terrorists. Most known is the upcoming Kiefer Sutherland
thriller, 24 where he must stop a terrorist from
assassinating the president. Also,
each show shot of the televised comedy, Friends is
going over to make sure there are no shots of the towers in
the background, and if they are they will be removed.
