| I've been very critical of the prospects of a James
Cameron-less Terminator 3. Even when talented directors
try to pick up the slack, they often fall very short such as
with Alien 3. I watch the 8pm Tuesday night showing to
an about half full theater (yes, this surprised me a great
deal). No previews, no commercials (thank god) just
about 105 minutes of a lot of action (guessing there's 4
minutes of credits).
---------SPOILERS BELOW-------
The general reaction appeared to be positive, but I'm never one to
just accept a film at face value. I was sure there were going to be plots
holes but most of them seemed to be minor. I really liked the mood and
direction of the ending. It is about time the world ends in this series
and unlike a lot of sequels this movie sets up T4 very nicely. However,
most of the movie was recompiled scenes and stunts from T2 and Terminator.
While a lot of the target audience might enjoyed the recycled material, I think
some fans will be disappointed.
