This is really a DVD concentrated on the special features components more so than the films, but the films itself are also quite nice to finally see off the VHS format.
There?s only one term that sums up the new Indiana Jones DVD collection, and that would be ?awesome?; though the special features are nicely thorough, they are not entirely the reason for that, as seeing the three installments with surround sound and clear picture is sufficient enough.

The sound takes the viewer into the scenes, along with in-depth documentaries that go beyond just the stereotypical promotional type hosted on HBO and the sort. For film buffs, this is the collection to own?that is, of course, after The Godfather set.

One of the most interesting aspects might possibly be the behind-the-scenes featurettes revolving around Steven Spielberg and George Lucas on the set. With roughly three hours of footage detailing their ideas at the time and their remembrances today of what it was like filming, the documentaries can be absorbing for anyone interested in filmmaking or simply those who love film.

Though this edition does leave out areas of filmmaking dealing with editing, casting (for the most part), and other divisions, the three-hour footage involving Spielberg, Lucas, and cast can make up for that aspect. I don?t find the Indiana Jones installments to be one of the best films ever made in the genre, but they?re fun, and they confirm what is often times missing in today?s movie marketplace.
